Clean water management
Taking time to properly manage water treatment, and what goes into your pool means your pool's water will remain clean and usable for longer.
- Test the water frequently and make adjustments to chemical levels. Use our Pool Chemical Guide for help.
- Use a skimmer net to remove debris from the surface and try to get dirt from the bottom too. To make this easier, consider one of our handheld or robot pool vacuums.
Filter cleaning
Your pool water needs filtering for around 6 hours everyday to stay clean. The filters will catch any large particles, so it is essential to give these a clean - quite often.
Bestway pool filter can be washed/rinsed and reused multiple times. If they become very discoloured and hard, it is time to get some new pool filters.
Cleaning the pool sides
As well as skimming the surface and removing debris from the bottom, mentioned above, your actual pool sides / walls need some attention periodically.
Cleaning the walls: To prevent the formation of algae and scale, you should brush the internal walls of the pool. Using a suitable brush on the walls and anti-algae products in the water, it is possible to keep the pool sides in top condition.
General care and maintenance
- Try and have a shower before using the pool.
- Regularly check filter pumps are working as they should.
- Visually check the outside of your pool - Ensure the frame is not loose and there is no damage to the liner.
- Use a cover to stop debris falling in.
What to do when the pool is not in use
When you're not having fun in your Bestway pool, it is a good idea to do the following:
- Use a cover to stop any dirt from falling in, reducing the temptation for children and hopefully preventing any wildlife from getting in
- Take the ladder out and keep it away from the pool. This is for safety with children.
- This is the perfect time to boost the chlorine or any other chemicals.
- Run the filter.
